Meet The Team


William (Bill) Cluff

Managing Director
Bill graduated with a Bachelor of Business (accounting, economics and law) from what is now known as Federation University Ballarat. He also holds a diploma in Financial Planning. He is a fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, and is also a fellow of CPA Australia.

He has served on many community and sporting committees, and has also held several board positions on a pro-bono basis, and is committed to community.

Bill is the founder of Cluff Chartered Accountants, and has had many years of experience in public accounting across a broad range of industries including the farming sector.

He is passionate about providing excellent professional services in a manner which is practical and technical, but is also easily understood.
Personally he has an interest in animals and racing and breeding horses. He holds a diploma of racing and is a licenced trainer with Racing Australia. Bill holds family values very highly, and promotes diversity and acceptance.

Nicole Bates

Senior Accountant
Nikky graduated from the University of Ballarat in 2012 with a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting), became a Chartered Accountant in 2015 and is a Xero Certified Advisor.

Nikky joined the team at Cluff Accountants in 2016. She loves helping clients to achieve their best possible outcome in all aspects of taxation and business compliance. She enjoys the complexities of Self-Managed Super Funds and prides herself on her clear thinking and problem solving abilities.

Nikky loves animals and regularly has to wrangle a crazy hyperactive dog along with house full of foster kittens.

Sarah Hodge 

Administration / Office Manager
Sarah joined the team at Cluff Chartered Accountants in June 2019, bringing with her a Diploma of Management (Administration) and Advanced Diploma of Business (Administration) along with 18 years of professional experience in reception, administration, bookkeeping and office management.

Her many duties include; reception, client liaison, bookkeeping, assisting with the preparation and lodgement of client BAS and income tax returns, ASIC lodgements, maintains client software files, new client integration, practice marketing and much more. 
She is highly motivated, process driven, client focussed, always eager to improve and loves a challenge. Sarah is also working at becoming a Xero Certified team member.

Away from the office Sarah loves spending time with her family and friends, attending her children’s sporting and school events and holidaying.
